Luc Fielder
Luc has been involved in metal working since High School,
working after school for various metal shops in
Luc will be forging and cold forming elements that he will
assemble into a floor lamp and sculpture that he has designed. He will be
using solid round square and flat stock as well as
round and square tubing. Completed examples of Luc’s forged and
fabricated work will be on display.
Iron Masters
Led by
Nikolai Pakhomov, a 1978 graduate of Stroganoff Graduate Art School of Design
in
The Iron Masters crew (three to four
smiths) will be constructing the piece as a team, an organic design, a small
tree 5 in diameter and 8 feet in height. Three men will be doing the forging
and fabrication while Nikolai, their senior artist-blacksmith, describes the
process and answering questions. They will be using a large power hammer
(courtesy of John Larson) and performing some arc welding.

Contestants are encouraged to donate
their entries to the Auction
Items will be judged by the
Demonstrators
Items must be forged completely by
the person entering them.
Mini Demonstrations
Have a forging technique or item you would like to
demonstrate to others? Come prepared to
demonstrate it during Blacksmith Days.
Forging Stations will be available throughout the event to allow you to show your skills and
techniques to others. Let us know on the
registration form if you are coming prepared to demonstrate.

This event is a non-profit project of The
Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland, INC., for the purpose of reviving the art
and craft of blacksmithing. While all
reasonable precautions are taken to prevent personal injury to participants and
their property, I recognize that there are inherent dangers connected with this
activity, as well as other common hazards that exist in any phase of daily
activity. All who participate, and
accompanying guests, release The Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland, INC.,
its members and officers, and the demonstrator/instructor from liability should
there occur an injury or accident involving anyone while participating in this
event. I have read and understand these
conditions. I agree to hold blameless
all parties helping to put on this event, for any claim arising from injury or
property damage.

demands, causes of action, damages, costs and suits arising, occurring or
