  • Safety Glasses Required in Traditional Arts Academy building and all demonstration tents

Forged Item Contests

  • Randy McDaniel's Sample Ring.

  • Forge at least three items and the ring out of pieces of 1/2" sq. X 3" long.
    Each item and the ring is forged from a separate 3" piece.
    The items will be judged on quality and complexity of forging, not quantity


  • A wrapped eye tomahawk or colonial axe

Rules: Entries must be forged by the Entrant since BSD 2017; Forging stations available on site to complete contest items; Demonstrators will judge contest on design, technical details, and overall execution; The judges decisions are final; First, Second, and Third prizes will be awarded for each forging contest.

  • Limited on-site, RV and primitive camping available for $25 per night payable directly to the Carroll County Farm Museum upon arrival. Public restrooms are available, No hook-ups or showers. All Campers will be required to complete and sign the Farm Museum Liability Release Statement.

Forged Iron Work Auction

Forged Iron Auction 4:30PM Saturday

Silent Auction Ends at Noon on Sunday

Attendees may consign blacksmithing/metal working tools and equipment Consignments subject to 20% auction commission and Maryland sales tax (6%) will be charged. Include list/description of items to be consigned with registration

Raffle Tickets available through guild members and at Blacksmith Days Sales Table in Pavilion
